Babies communicate their needs through crying, indicating hunger or discomfort. Toddlers are often vocal and express unhappiness when dissatisfied or wanting something. Teenagers may feel entitled, thinking they deserve special treatment or privileges. In contrast, with their maturity, adults tend to assess the situation, drawing from their own experiences and the experiences of others, and strategize to attain their goals. Adults who continue to act like toddlers may cry, fight, argue, resort to name-calling, dwell on the past, endlessly express their grievances, and become perpetual pity-seekers.
